Rawalpindi & Islamabad Hit by Heavy Rain & Thunderstorm

Islamabad and Rawalpindi experienced strong thunderstorms and heavy rain, offering much-needed relief from the recent heatwave. The sudden weather change brought cooler temperatures and a refreshing break from the intense heat that had gripped both cities.

The storm came with dark clouds, powerful winds, and heavy rain that made it feel like night during the day. Visibility dropped sharply, and roads became slippery and waterlogged. Many shops and businesses had to close for a while, and traffic moved slowly due to poor road conditions and fallen tree branches in some areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more widespread rain in the coming days across the country. Areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan are all expected to receive showers.

The rain is likely to come with thunderstorms, and in some places, even hailstorms are expected. This shift in weather is bringing cooler air and a bit of relief for people who were suffering from record-high temperatures just days ago.

While the rain has been a welcome change for many, it also caused temporary power outages in some neighborhoods and minor damage due to strong winds. However, most residents are thankful for the cooler weather and are hoping for more rain to ease the dry conditions across the country.

Farmers are especially happy, as the rain will help crops that were struggling in the heat. Authorities have advised people to stay indoors during the storm and avoid unnecessary travel for safety.

This rainy spell has not only brought comfort to people but also raised hopes for improved water levels in dams and reservoirs.
