Pakistan is building the Ghotki-Kandhkot Bridge in the province of Sindh, which will be the longest river bridge in South Asia. Stretching over 12.5 kilometers, the bridge is expected to be completed by 2028. The total cost of the project is Rs30.5 billion.

This bridge will connect three major provinces—Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan. Once finished, it will reduce the travel time between Ghotki and Kandhkot from 2.5 hours to just 15 minutes. This will make it much easier and faster for people and goods to move between the regions.

The project is expected to bring many benefits. It will improve law and order in the area by providing better access to remote regions. It will also help the local economy by creating jobs during and after construction. People living in and around Kandhkot will have more opportunities, and the area will become more connected to the rest of the country.

Government officials have shared that this bridge is part of a much bigger development plan. This includes building schools, hospitals, and industrial zones in the region. The total value of this larger plan is over Rs616 billion.

The Ghotki-Kandhkot Bridge is a major step toward improving Pakistan’s infrastructure. By connecting important provinces, reducing travel time, and opening up new economic opportunities, the bridge is expected to bring long-term benefits to the people of Sindh and beyond. It will not only improve transportation but also help raise the standard of living in the surrounding areas.

This project shows how large-scale infrastructure can support growth and development, especially in regions that have been underdeveloped for many years.
