LAHORE: The Punjab government has beefed up security across the province to ensure a peaceful Eidul Azha.
The Punjab Home department has devised a three-layer security measure at major mosques and established a central control room that will be preparing security reports round-the-clock.
The department has already imposed Section 144 through three separate notifications to curb burning animal heads and feet in the open, disposal of waste in canals or manholes, ban on pigeon flying, fireworks, drones and laser lights in the 15km radius of airports and a complete ban on temporarily installed mechanical rides during Eid holidays.
In order to ensure peace during Eid and Muharram, the home secretary and officials also held meetings with ulema of all sects for mitigating religious intolerance.
In the backdrop of security threat alerts, all districts also conducted their respective district intelligence committee meetings to analyse threat perceptions and take security measures.
