LTO Karachi Achieves Record-Breaking Single-Day Tax Collection

The Large Taxpayers Office (LTO) in Karachi has made history by collecting an incredible Rs184.7 billion in taxes in just one day. This is the highest amount the office has ever collected within a single day, setting a new benchmark for its operations.

This remarkable achievement shows how strong and efficient the LTO Karachi team has become in recovering taxes. Their careful planning and strategic efforts are clearly paying off.

In June 2025 alone, LTO Karachi collected a total of Rs449.05 billion, which is an impressive 48% increase compared to the same month last year. This demonstrates a significant boost in tax compliance and collection efforts.

For the entire fiscal year 2024–25, LTO Karachi recorded total revenue of Rs3.5 trillion. That represents a 29% growth over the previous year. Most of this revenue came from income tax and sales tax collections, highlighting the effective management of key tax areas.

This success has been achieved under the leadership of Chief Commissioner Zubair Bilal, whose direction and guidance have played a crucial role. The teamwork, dedication, and commitment shown by the entire staff have been central to reaching these record-breaking numbers.

Overall, this milestone reflects not only better tax collection but also growing confidence in the system and improved compliance among taxpayers, which is a positive sign for Pakistan’s economic future.
