Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has shared fresh updates regarding visa issues faced by Pakistanis traveling to Gulf countries, especially UAE. Speaking to media, Naqvi assured that the government is actively working to resolve these challenges through high-level discussions with Gulf officials.

He acknowledged the growing number of visa rejections reported in recent weeks and confirmed that formal talks with the UAE’s Interior Minister are expected soon. Naqvi stressed that improving access for Pakistani travelers is a top priority and expressed hope that progress would be made in the coming days.

Efforts are not limited to the UAE alone. The minister also mentioned similar discussions underway with officials in Kuwait and Oman to ease travel restrictions for Pakistani citizens.

In addition to visa matters, Naqvi touched on broader plans to enhance the international standing of the Pakistani passport. He said the government is taking multiple steps to improve Pakistan’s global mobility ranking and rebuild the image of the passport worldwide.

On domestic matters, the minister highlighted key security initiatives, including the launch of the Safe City project in Karachi. This plan aims to reduce crime through modern surveillance systems. He also mentioned improvements in coastal security, with more patrol boats now guarding Pakistan’s 1,002-kilometer shoreline.

Furthermore, Naqvi announced that NADRA will soon be linking criminal records with national ID cards to strengthen law enforcement systems.

The minister concluded by expressing optimism about future reforms, noting that long-standing challenges like water planning are finally receiving attention.
