Actors like Humayun Saeed took to social media to express their condolences

The Pakistani entertainment industry was left in shock following the tragic news of actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali’s passing. Gizri Police confirmed on Tuesday that the 35-year-old’s body was discovered in her Karachi apartment, where it had likely remained for nearly 20 days.

The grim discovery was made when her landlord, accompanied by a court bailiff and police officers, arrived to execute a court-ordered eviction due to non-payment of rent.

Humaira had reportedly stopped paying rent in early 2024, though she had been living in the third-floor flat in Ittehad Commercial area of DHA Phase VI since 2018. The flat’s main door was locked from the inside, prompting authorities to break it open. The actor’s body was found in an advanced state of decomposition.

According to SHO Farooq Sanjrani of Gizri Police Station, there were no immediate signs of foul play or forced entry. Crime Scene Unit investigators collected forensic evidence from the scene, and the body was moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination.

Initial assessment suggests natural causes, but the exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy. The flat has since been sealed, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police have yet to locate any of Humaira’s family members. She was believed to be living alone with limited contact, which contributed to the delay in discovering her death.

Humaira carved a space for herself in showbiz over the past decade. She rose to fame after winning Veet Miss Super Model in 2014 and appearing in reality show Tamasha Ghar (2022). Humaira’s acting credits include TV series such as Laali, and films Jalaibee (2015) and Love Vaccine (2021). For her artistic contributions, she was awarded the National Woman Leadership Award in 2023.

Her sudden passing has left fans and colleagues stunned, as tributes pour in across social media.

Veteran actor Humayun Saeed took to Instagram, expressing “Deeply sorry for this sudden and shocking loss. May Allah Bless Humaira’s soul. Heartfelt condolences”

.

Adnan Siddiqui, who also hosted Tamasha, where Asghar was a participant, wrote on Instagram, “Inna lillahi wah inna ilayhi raji’un. Deeply shocked and saddened. A young life cut so short suddenly. May you be in peace Humaira and your family get the strength to deal with the vacuum you have left behind.”

Former co-star Atiqa Odho, also posted a photo with Asghar from their drama Ehsaan Faramosh, stating “Woke up to this shocking and tragic news. Unbelievable as she had so much life to look forward to. We worked in Ehsaan Faramosh serial together and she was such a gentle soul. Never thought that she would leave us so soon. I hope the authorities get to the truth and we find out what happened to Humaira Asghar so that we may be able to help others in the future before we lose them in this unfortunate manner. Tragic, tragic, tragic. Humaira, may you rest in peace my dear, wherever you are. Ameen.”

Ali Rahman Khan, also wrote a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying “Really tragic news. She was a thorough professional who took pride in her work. She always spoke to me with kindness and respect. I only have the most pleasant memories of her. May Allah bless her and watch over her in the afterlife.”
