Toyota Increases Car Prices by Up to Rs. 600,000

Car buyers in Pakistan will now have to pay more if they want to own a Toyota. From July 1, 2025, Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has increased the prices of its entire range of cars and SUVs. This comes after the government announced a new NEV Levy in the Federal Budget for 2025–26. The new tax affects cars that run on petrol and diesel.

People who were planning to buy a new Toyota will now need to adjust their budgets. Depending on the model, the price increase starts at around Rs. 49,000 and goes up to Rs. 600,000. Models like the Yaris and Corolla have seen smaller increases, while bigger vehicles like the Hilux and Fortuner have the highest jumps in price.

The new tax does not apply to electric, hybrid, or export-only vehicles. It only affects regular internal combustion engine (ICE) cars. Because of this, Toyota is not the only company to raise prices. Other popular brands like Honda, Suzuki, and Changan have also made similar moves.

Customers who booked their cars before July 1 and paid the full amount before June 30 will not face the new rates. However, if the payment was not complete, the new prices will apply.

Toyota has also reminded customers that the final cost depends on extra charges like freight and insurance, which are separate from the ex-factory price.

While the new prices might feel heavy on buyers’ pockets, the government hopes the new levy will encourage people to shift to cleaner, greener cars in the future. For now, though, owning a petrol or diesel Toyota just became a lot more expensive for the average Pakistani family.

Below is an updated look at some popular Toyota models and how much more they cost now:

Industry experts believe prices could go even higher if the Pakistani rupee weakens further or if more taxes are introduced. For now, car lovers will have to wait and see if greener options will soon become the new normal on Pakistani roads.
