Government workers in Balochistan are set to receive some financial relief as the provincial government has approved a salary allowance for its employees. According to the sources, this new allowance will help thousands of government workers manage rising living costs.

A notification from the Treasury Department explains that a 10% Ad Hoc Relief Allowance will be given to employees working in Basic Pay Scales (BPS) 1 through 22. This means that workers will get an extra 10% of their basic pay added to their salaries. The allowance will be effective from July 1, 2025.

However, not everyone will benefit. Government employees who are working abroad or on deputation to other departments will not get this extra allowance, as clearly stated in the official notice. The government has made sure that this relief will be managed within the current budget plan for the year, so there is no need for extra funds.

In addition to this, the government has also shared the latest income tax slabs for the salaried class in the new budget for 2025–26.

People earning up to Rs. 600,000 a year will not pay any income tax at all. Those earning slightly more will pay only 1% tax on the extra amount. The tax rate then increases step by step for higher incomes, with the highest earners paying up to 35% on income above Rs4.1 million per year.

This allowance and updated tax policy are meant to give some comfort to government employees as they deal with everyday expenses. The move has been welcomed by many workers across the province who hope it will ease some financial stress in the coming year.
