Sri Lanka Ends Visa Charges for Pakistan

Sri Lanka has announced that tourists from 40 countries, including Pakistan, can now visit the country without paying any visa fees. This new step aims to attract more visitors and boost the country’s tourism industry, which is an important part of its economy.

The countries covered under this free visa policy include big names like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, the USA, the UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Nepal, and China. Travelers from these countries can now plan trips to Sri Lanka’s famous beaches, green forests, ancient temples, and other beautiful spots without worrying about extra visa costs.

Sri Lanka’s Tourism Minister, Harin Fernando, explained that this decision may cost the government about $66 million every year. However, he believes that more tourists will come to Sri Lanka because of this offer, which will help make up for the lost money through spending on hotels, food, shopping, and local services.

The tourism sector in Sri Lanka has faced challenges in recent years due to economic issues and the pandemic. This new policy is a way to tell the world that Sri Lanka is ready to welcome tourists with open arms.

With no visa fee, travel lovers have one more reason to choose Sri Lanka for their next holiday. The government hopes that this move will bring in more foreign visitors and create new job opportunities for local people who work in tourism-related businesses.
