Google Launches AI Mode in Pakistan, Here are Details of New Feature

Google has officially rolled out AI Mode in Pakistan, introducing a new way for users to search, learn and explore information online. The feature, powered by Google’s Gemini 2.5 technology, is designed to make searching faster, more natural, and more useful for people who ask complex questions.

A Shift From Simple to Smarter Search

Unlike traditional search, where users often break down their queries into several smaller searches, AI Mode can handle longer and more detailed questions in a single step. According to Google, early users worldwide are already asking queries that are two to three times longer than before. This makes it especially useful for planning trips, learning new skills, or comparing products.

For example, a traveler can now ask: “Plan a 5-day Hunza trip with sightseeing, adventure, and local food experiences.” Users can then follow up with questions about food spots or activities, creating an interactive and personalized search journey.

Multimodal Experience for Everyday Use

AI Mode isn’t limited to text. It allows searches through voice commands, photos, or uploaded images. With Google Lens integrated, people can take a picture and ask about it instantly. A shopper in Karachi, for instance, could snap a photo of spices and ask how they are used in Pakistani cooking.

How It Works Behind the Scenes

Google says the system uses a technique called query fan-out, where it breaks a single question into smaller topics and searches multiple sources at once. This helps it provide deeper, more accurate answers along with links to websites for further exploration.

The responses are also supported by Google’s Knowledge Graph, shopping data, and ranking systems, ensuring that users see not only AI-generated insights but also reliable web content. If the system is uncertain, it defaults back to regular search results.

Access and Availability

AI Mode is now available in Pakistan in English, across the Google app (Android and iOS) as well as on desktop and mobile browsers.

By combining conversational search with Google’s information ecosystem, AI Mode aims to change how people interact with the web, offering them smarter tools to discover knowledge, plan activities, and make better decisions.
