President Zardari confers Nishan-e-Imtiaz on UAE Naval Chief

President Asif Ali Zardari awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) to Major General Humaid Abdulla Alremeithi, Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Naval Forces, during a special ceremony held in Islamabad on Monday.

The Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) is one of Pakistan’s highest military honors, given to individuals who show exceptional service and dedication.

Major General Alremeithi received the award in recognition of his important role in strengthening defense ties between Pakistan and the UAE. His efforts have helped build closer cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, especially in the naval sector.

At the ceremony, President Zardari praised Major General Alremeithi for his leadership and for promoting mutual trust between Pakistan and the UAE. He highlighted the UAE Navy’s confidence in Pakistan’s professional skills and capabilities, especially in areas such as training, joint exercises, and defense collaboration.

The president also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening bilateral defense relations, noting that both countries share a history of brotherhood, strong cultural links, and strategic cooperation.

The award not only honors Major General Alremeithi’s personal contributions but also reflects the growing partnership between Pakistan and the UAE.

Defense cooperation has been an important part of their relationship, and both sides continue to explore ways to expand joint efforts in security and defense.

The event was attended by senior military officials, diplomats, and government representatives, who applauded the recognition of the UAE commander’s services.

The ceremony was seen as a symbol of the strong friendship and trust that continues to define relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates.
