The Punjab government has introduced Pakistan’s very first airlift drone to help with flood rescue operations. This development is being seen as a big step forward in disaster management and emergency response in the country.

The drone has the ability to lift a person weighing up to 200 kilograms, making it especially useful in saving people trapped in floodwaters or cut off from safe areas. The first test flights were carried out successfully in Lahore, and now the drone will be officially deployed in Multan, an area that is often affected by heavy flooding during the monsoon season.

Officials have announced that ten more such drones will be added in the near future, which will greatly strengthen rescue efforts. The project is part of the Punjab Civil Defence Resilience Corps, which is working to modernize and speed up the province’s disaster response system.

By introducing this technology, the government hopes to ensure faster, safer, and more efficient rescue operations, giving vulnerable communities better protection during emergencies.
