A lawyer has filed a request with the concerned authorities, asking them to remove e-challan fines for members of the legal profession.

The petitioner explained that many lawyers do not earn high or stable incomes and often face financial challenges while trying to support their families. Because of this, the growing number of digital traffic fines has become an added burden for them.

According to the lawyer, most people working in the legal field are responsible citizens who follow the rules and are committed to supporting the justice system.

He argued that lawyers spend their days assisting the public, representing clients and helping courts work smoothly. In his view, they deserve special consideration, especially when new systems like e-challan create unexpected expenses.

The lawyer also mentioned that the purpose of e-challan is to encourage safe driving not to put financial stress on those who are already struggling.

He believes that exempting lawyers from the fines or at least offering some form of relaxation would make the system fairer. He added that lawyers provide an essential public service and should not be treated the same way as habitual traffic violators.

His petition has sparked discussion within the legal community. Many lawyers have voiced similar concerns, saying that technology-based fines sometimes feel too strict and do not take personal circumstances into account.

Some argue that the government should create a clear policy for professionals who serve the justice system and contribute to law and order every day.

Authorities have not yet responded to the request, but the petition has opened a broader debate on whether certain professions should receive special relief under the e-challan system.
