For the first time in 28 years, a government school student has topped the matric science exams in Karachi. Hafiz Abdul Rafay Tariq, a student of Delhi Government Boys Secondary School, scored an impressive 94.55%, breaking the long-standing streak of private school dominance. The Board of Secondary Education Karachi announced the results, recognizing Rafay’s outstanding performance.

Rafay’s achievement is significant, as it marks the first time since 1996 that a government school has secured the top position in matric exams. His success is not only a personal triumph but also a testament to the quality of education in government institutions. Rafay’s father, who is a mathematics teacher at the same school, played a key role in his academic journey.

Out of 163,012 candidates, 81.24% passed the exams, with female students also excelling in their performance. Rafay’s accomplishment has brought pride to his family, his school, and the entire public education sector in Karachi.

Congratulations to Hafiz Abdul Rafay Tariq and Delhi Government Boys Secondary School on this remarkable achievement. It’s a significant milestone that offers hope for other students in the government school system and highlights the potential for success regardless of educational background.
