Singer syas she ‘remained silent for long’ but is ready to ‘speak up for women now’

Pakistani music sensation Aima Baig has announced her intention to launch a nationwide ‘#MeToo’ campaign following her recent Umrah pilgrimage.

The singer took to her official Instagram account to share her motivation and plans, expressing a renewed sense of purpose after completing her religious journey.

In her Instagram story, Aima Baig revealed that performing Umrah had given her immense strength and that she feels the need to empower women in her country and protect them from deceitful individuals.

“There are many predatory individuals I’ve observed who have ruined the lives of young girls,” Aima stated, “but for various reasons, I remained silent until now.”

The singer admitted feeling regret for her previous silence but is now determined to initiate a ‘Me Too’ movement to give a voice to women.

“I will speak up for women,” she declared, “and through this movement, I want to send a message that we are not toys or jokes; we are the reason for men’s existence in this world, and we deserve respect.”

Aima Baig also appealed to women to raise their voices against injustice and abuse, highlighting that many girls suffer from physical and mental distress due to mistreatment.

She emphasized her commitment to taking action, stating, “I have a list of names of those who have wronged women. We will work with evidence and support all women.”
