The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman announced the apprehension of trucks belonging to a number of companies while transporting sand without a permit.
The vehicles involved were fined, impounded, and confiscated as part of ongoing efforts to monitor violations of regulations.
The department pointed out that transporting sand without the necessary permits results in a fine of at least Dhs3,000 and impoundment of the vehicle involved.
Additionally, the department stated that it would continue to penalise any one that has caused the offence or the companies that work without authorisation, and that the offence will be doubled if repeated, while the vehicles involved would be impounded and confiscated.
The department’s Rasid section is working to intensify field monitoring campaigns 24/7, to ensure compliance with the laws outlined, to demand the necessary authorisations and permits for the transport of burial sand, and to report violations.
