She said she has always relied on merit

Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has taken a firm stance against what she described as unethical practices in the entertainment industry, claiming she has never compromised her self-respect to secure roles.

In a recent Instagram story, Alizeh Shah appeared to criticise fellow actors for using connections or “parchi” and favours to obtain work.

She said she has always relied on merit and has never engaged in any dealings to advance her career.

Alizeh Shah, known for her work in television and film, stated that such tactics are common only in Pakistan and that professionalism in the industry is often defined by compliance with such methods.

She added that those who decline such approaches are unfairly labelled as disrespectful.

The actress, who recently deleted all her Instagram posts and announced a break from the platform, has frequently been at the centre of controversy over her fashion choices and candid remarks.
