American University in the USA is offering the Emerging Global Leader Scholarship for 2025. This scholarship aims to support international students from underrepresented and diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, helping them pursue graduate studies in a global environment.

Scholarship Overview

The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship is designed to promote academic excellence, leadership, development, and global engagement. The program seeks to prepare future leaders from around the world by providing a comprehensive support system. This scholarship is not only a significant career boost but also an opportunity to contribute positively to one’s home country after graduation.

Key Benefits

The scholarship covers full tuition, room, and board for two international students requiring a non-immigrant visa (F-1 or J-1). It is renewable for up to four years, provided academic performance remains satisfactory. Additionally, up to eight partial scholarships, worth up to $40,000 per year, are available.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must:

  • Be currently studying in secondary or high school and expect to graduate by June 2025.
  • Not be currently studying in the USA or be a US resident.
  • For IB students: Plan to graduate with a full diploma and have at least three Higher Level subjects.
  • For British A Levels students: Complete 13 years of study with three A Levels before August 2025.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 4.0 from 9th to 12th grade.
  • Demonstrate leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to community service in their home country.
  • Preferably be from diverse, underdeveloped backgrounds facing multiple challenges.

English Language Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following language proficiency standards:

  • TOEFL: 95+ overall with sub-scores of 24+ on paper-based tests and 20 or above in other categories.
  • IELTS: 6.0+ overall with sub-scores of 6.0 or above.
  • SAT: At least 33 in Reading subscore.
  • ACT: At least 29 in English.
  • PTE: At least 65.
  • Duolingo: 120+ with all sub-scores of 110 or above.
  • Cambridge Assessment English: 185 or above with all sub-scores of 169 or above.

Application Process

To apply for the AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship:

  1. Complete the AU EGLS application form on the official website.
  2. Upload the bank letter and financial certificates on the Future Eagle portal.
  3. Fill out the Common Application form and submit it along with the required documents.

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated based on:

  • Competitive rating.
  • Performance in interviews.
  • Quality of the submitted essay.
