Appeals court sides with Trump, allows tariffs to go into effect

  • The court will hear more arguments on July 31, keeping tariffs for at least two months.
  • White House representatives have not commented on the court's decision regarding tariffs.

The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Tuesday allowed President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs to stay in effect, pending further arguments.

The court said it plans to hear further arguments on the matter on July 31, meaning the president's tariffs will likely stay in effect for at least the next two months.

Representatives for the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.
