The Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) has made an important new decision that will change study options for students in Pakistan. Starting from the 2026 annual exams, students who complete their matriculation in the Arts group will also be allowed to apply for Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering programs.

This new policy was approved after discussions with major education authorities across the country. It is designed to give Arts students more opportunities and the freedom to choose different fields, even those traditionally linked to science.

Educational boards will be responsible for setting their own admission rules. These may include minimum merit requirements, aptitude tests, or other conditions to make sure that students entering these programs are prepared. The goal is to create a fair and uniform system for all students, no matter which board they belong to.

This information is based on reports available so far. For complete and official details, students should check updates from relevant educational authorities.
