Babar Az Equals Saim Ayub in T20I Record of Most Ducks

Babar Azam has now reached the same number of ducks in T20 internationals as Saim Ayub and Umar Akmal, with all three players having 10 innings where they were dismissed without scoring, according to official statistics. The comparison also shows how quickly each player reached this number: Saim Ayub got 10 ducks in just 50 innings, Umar Akmal took 79 innings, while Babar reached the mark after playing 125 matches, which is a much longer period.

Babar’s latest duck happened during Pakistan’s chase of a 185-run target against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi. He was dismissed LBW by Dushmantha Chameera after facing only two balls. His very early wicket put extra pressure on Pakistan’s middle order, and many fans expressed disappointment because they were hoping for a strong performance from him.

Even though this unwanted record is now attached to his name, Babar still has many chances to make a comeback. With the ongoing tri-series and the 2026 T20 World Cup approaching, he has time to regain form, score big runs, and prove why he remains one of Pakistan’s most talented batters.
