Babar Azam is likely to make a return to Pakistan’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against South Africa. According to reports, PCB has advised the selectors to bring him back after two straight defeats against India exposed weaknesses in the team’s batting.

Babar, who is one of Pakistan’s most experienced batters, last featured in a T20 International in December against South Africa. He was left out afterward due to concerns regarding his strike rate, as the management wanted to experiment with a faster approach at the top of the order.

However, with the batting lineup collapsing under pressure in recent matches, his comeback is being seen as a much-needed boost for stability.

Selectors believe Babar’s presence will strengthen the top order and give the team confidence in high-pressure situations. Still, questions remain about his exact role in the batting lineup.

While he has traditionally opened the innings, there are discussions about whether he should continue in that position or shift down to number three or four. The final call is expected to depend on team strategy and combinations for the series.

Babar’s potential return is already a major talking point among fans and analysts, who see him as a reliable performer capable of anchoring the innings while others play freely around him.

His inclusion could be the key to balancing Pakistan’s batting, especially with tough matches ahead. An official announcement from the PCB is expected soon as the team prepares for the South Africa series.
