Bahrain Becomes Second Gulf State to Join Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

Bahrain has officially joined the controversial “Gaza Board of Peace,” becoming the second Gulf country after the United Arab Emirates to support former US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza.

The decision was announced by Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and approved by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahraini officials, the move reflects support for a US-backed initiative that claims to focus on peace, stability, and the protection of Palestinian rights. Supporters of the plan say it aims to bring long-term solutions to the region through economic development and international cooperation.

However, the decision has sparked strong criticism from various groups and analysts. Critics argue that the Gaza Board of Peace may weaken Palestinian sovereignty rather than protect it.

One of the main concerns is the high cost of permanent membership, reported to be around one billion dollars. Opponents say this fee limits participation to wealthy countries and excludes those who may represent Palestinian interests more directly.

The initiative has also drawn attention in Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reportedly been invited to engage with the board, which has led to debate within the country.

Many are questioning how Pakistan should respond, given its long-standing position of supporting Palestinian self-determination and opposing actions seen as unfair to Palestine.

As more countries consider their stance, the Gaza Board of Peace continues to divide opinion. While some see it as a step toward dialogue and peace, others view it as a political move that could reshape the future of Gaza without fully addressing the concerns and rights of the Palestinian people.
