BAJAUR: Bajaur district health officer Dr Gohar Ayoub’s father was killed in a bomb explosion at his residence in Khar town here on Thursday night, police and Rescue 1122 said on Friday.

Amjad Khan, district emergency officer of Rescue 1122 Khar station, told media that a bomb struck the private residence of DHO Dr Gohar Ayoub in Hafizabad Mohallah at around 10pm.

He said that Dr Gohar Ayoub’s father, Mian Mohammad Ayoub, was critically injured in the explosion said to be occurred at the residence’s main gate.

Soon after the blast, Mr Amjad said a team of rescuers immediately rushed to the scene and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital, Khar, for treatment after administering first aid.

However, the rescue official said that the 58-year-old succumbed to multiple injuries at the hospital’s emergency ward.

A police official while quoting senior police officials, who visited the area, told media that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device planted near the main gate of Dr Ayoub’s residence.

Translation: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has strongly condemned the suspension of advertisements for media TV and media Radio, following the earlier suspension for media Media Group’s newspapers. CPNE stated that media is among Pakistan’s most reputable media outlets, and imposing a ban on government advertisements is tantamount to economically weakening it.In this regard, the CPNE President and Secretary General said in a joint statement that media Media Group has provided impartial reporting in Pakistan since its inception. Initially, its newspapers were subjected to a ban on advertisements, and now the government has also deprived media Media Group’s electronic platforms of government advertisements. They demanded that the government immediately lift the ban on media Media Group’s advertisements.
