Bangladesh Denies Visa to Indian Official in ICC Delegation

Bangladesh has refused to issue a visa to one Indian official who was supposed to be part of an International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation visiting the country. The visit was planned to hold discussions about possible changes to venues for upcoming World Cup matches.

Indian media reports say that only Andrew Ephraim, the ICC’s Head of Anti-Corruption and Security, has received permission to enter Bangladesh. He is expected to arrive for a two-day visit to review security arrangements and hold meetings with local authorities. The other Indian official included in the original delegation was not granted clearance.

This development comes at a time when Bangladesh has raised concerns about the safety and security of its team while playing T20 World Cup matches in India. These concerns have reportedly prompted discussions within the ICC about reviewing venues and security measures to ensure the safety of players and officials.

The situation highlights ongoing sensitivities around sports, security, and diplomacy in the region, as cricket boards and international bodies work to balance tournament planning with player safety and political considerations.
