Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced an exciting new opportunity for Pakistani workers. During his recent visit to Minsk, the capital of Belarus, he revealed that the Belarusian government has invited more than 150,000 skilled Pakistanis to come and work in their country. These positions are designed to match internationally recognized standards, ensuring that young professionals from Pakistan can find meaningful and well-paying jobs abroad.

Shehbaz Sharif explained that this initiative will not only help Belarus meet its labor needs but will also open doors for Pakistani youth to gain valuable experience and improve their livelihoods. He stressed that the skills and expertise of Pakistani workers—whether in engineering, healthcare, construction, or other fields—will be a great benefit to the Belarusian economy.

The prime minister traveled with a high-level delegation that held discussions on several areas of cooperation beyond labor. Both countries agreed to strengthen ties in agriculture, where Pakistani expertise in crop management and livestock could support Belarusian farms. They also explored joint ventures in mining and mineral processing, as well as collaboration in emerging technologies like information systems and renewable energy.

During the visit, Pakistan and Belarus signed multiple agreements covering defense cooperation, trade promotion, and environmental protection efforts. These accords lay the foundation for a deeper, long-term partnership that can boost growth, create jobs, and foster innovation in both nations. Overall, the trip underscored Pakistan’s commitment to building strong international relationships and creating new opportunities for its citizens.
