Thinking about ditching your expensive cellular provider for greener (and cheaper) prepaid pastures? Mint Mobile—once partly owned by Ryan Reynolds before T-Mobile purchased it—should be a blinding blip on your radar. It’s hard to beat Mint’s value; you get access to the same 5G network that T-Mobile users do at only a fraction of the cost (check the coverage map here). And that’s before you factor in the best Mint Mobile plans which cut prices even further.
Here’s how it works: you either bring your own unlocked 4G- or 5G-compatible device to Mint Mobile and purchase a SIM kit (effectively signing up for a plan), or you can purchase a device directly from the carrier. Activate your eSIM or install the physical SIM card, go through a quick setup process, and you’ll be all set with unlimited talk and text, plus however much data your plan allows.
Mint Mobile deals have sweet offers for new customers mulling the switch. One of its pillar propositions is the more you buy, the more you save. That means your discounts are more plentiful for the highest data plans.
Best deals on Mint Mobile plans
Right now, new customers bringing their own device can sign up for any of Mint’s 3-month plans, including Unlimited, for $15 per month ($45 due at checkout). The base 5GB plan is always $15, but you can get 25% off 15GB, 40% off 20GB, or 50% off unlimited. If you’re not on an unlimited plan and you’re coming up against your monthly limit, you can purchase more a la carte using the Mint Mobile app.
No matter which Mint Mobile plan you choose, your first 3 months cost $45. You can also buy multiple plans at this special price, and Mint lets you easily combine accounts under a family plan. If you like what you’re getting for the money, you can lock in that introductory price by committing to another 12 months during your renewal period.
In addition to unlimited talk and text, all Mint plans include free calling to Canada and Mexico, WiFi calling and text, and free mobile hotspot access to share your phone’s data as you want with other devices. Hotspot data is limited to 10GB on the Unlimited plan though.
Need a new phone? Mint is currently offering 12 months of service for the price of six when you purchase new hardware through them, and unlike other carriers, it doesn’t split the savings across your monthly bill. As you’re paying upfront, you’ll get the full discount immediately. These offers are only available for a limited time.
Today’s best Mint Mobile deals
New Mint customers can prepay $45 for three months of unlimited talk and text, plus a 15GB monthly data allowance. The $15 monthly cost matches that of Mint’s standard 5GB plan.
Usually $25 per month, you can get unlimited talk and text, and 20GB of data for $15 per month. Just sign up for a Mint Mobile SIM kit and select the three-month plan.
Mint’s Unlimited plan offers the biggest savings: it’s normally $30 per month, but this promotion slashes that in half to $15, or $45 per month prepaid. You get unlimited talk, text, and data, but you’ll be slowed to 4G LTE speeds after using 40GB.
For a limited time, new customers porting a number from a different carrier and purchasing a new device from Mint Mobile can get 12 months of service for the price of six. You can buy phones like the Pixel 7 Pro outright (currently $300 off), or finance them for low monthly payments through Affirm.
