The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has collected more than Rs. 47 crore by auctioning 30 premium “choice” vehicle number plates in Peshawar. The auction received an overwhelming response from the public, showing that many people are highly interested in getting personalized and unique registration numbers for their vehicles.
The most expensive number plate in the auction was “Dawar 1,” which was sold for an impressive Rs. 17.50 crore. Other popular plates included “Orakzai 1” and “Waziristan 1,” both of which also received bids worth several crores. In addition, many other number plates linked to regional and tribal names attracted strong competition among bidders, reflecting people’s pride in their identity and background.
Officials said that the successful auction clearly shows the growing demand for exclusive and customized number plates in the province. They explained that such initiatives not only meet public interest but also help the government generate significant revenue without introducing new taxes or financial burdens on citizens.
Authorities further shared that similar auctions will be organized in the future. They believe these events will continue to attract strong participation and help raise more funds, which can then be used for development projects and public services across the province.
