Saim Ayub, the opening batter for Pakistan, has been ruled out of the second Test against South Africa due to an unfortunate ankle injury. This injury occurred during the first session of the match in Cape Town when Ayub twisted his right ankle while fielding.

He was involved in a relay with Aamir Jamal, but as they both ran, Ayub lost his balance and fell, which led to the injury. His teammates helped him off the field, as he was limping. Immediately after the incident, Ayub was sent for medical evaluations, including X-rays and MRI scans, to determine the extent of the injury.

The reports were sent to specialists in London for further assessment and advice on the best course of treatment. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that due to the injury, Ayub would not be able to participate in the remainder of the match.

This is a big blow to the team as Ayub had shown great promise in the series so far. Pakistan’s management and the cricketing world are now eagerly awaiting the full reports from the specialists to understand how long it will take for Ayub to recover and when he can return to the field.

His absence will be felt, but the team remains hopeful that his recovery will be swift and he will return stronger for the upcoming matches.
