MADRID: Spain’s Caixabank said on Friday its net profit fell 8.1% in the third quarter from the same period in 2024 due to the impact from the banking tax.
The country’s biggest lender by domestic assets reported a net profit of 1.45 billion euros ($1.69 billion) in the July to September period compared to 1.57 billion euros in the third-quarter last year.
Analysts polled by Reuters expected a net profit of 1.44 billion euros.
