The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has completed the planning for a new international cricket stadium in Islamabad.

The project is expected to cost around Rs. 12 billion and aims to upgrade the capital’s sports facilities to modern standards. Officials believe this new stadium will help promote sports activities in the city and support Pakistan in hosting major cricket events in the future.

The stadium will be built near Sector D-12, right at the beautiful foothills of the Margalla Hills. It will have seating for around 25,000 spectators.

The design includes a three-tier seating arrangement, offering general seats, VIP areas, and shaded sections to make the viewing experience more comfortable for everyone. The layout has also been planned in a way that allows smooth entry and exit, reducing crowd pressure and making match days easier to manage.

One of the exciting features being considered is the addition of Dubai-style “Ring of Fire” LED lighting. This modern lighting system will enhance night matches and create a world-class environment for players and fans.

The stadium will also include an advanced roofing structure, better facilities for players, high-quality media boxes, modern dressing rooms, and upgraded hospitality areas.

According to officials, the new stadium will not only improve Islamabad’s sports infrastructure but will also help Pakistan attract more international cricket tours and global tournaments.

The project is part of a broader plan to bring international-level sports facilities to the capital, improve tourism, and give cricket fans a modern venue to enjoy their favourite sport.
