PESHAWAR: A constable of the Counter-Terrorism Department was martyred when assailants opened fire at him in Ameerkhel area of the Hassankhel subdivision — an area located on the border between Peshawar and Kohat districts, on Wednesday, the police said.

According to the city police, unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on constable Sohail within the jurisdiction of Hassankhel police station. They said that the cop died on the spot.

The Hassankhel police officials immediately reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. The personnel collected 12 empties from the spot.
