The Ministry of Community Development has announced the activation of a unified digital link to approve parking permits for people of determination between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This initiative forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to support the country’s sustainability and digital transformation.
This came in collaboration with the The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, as well as the Abu Dhabi Police, the Dubai Police, Abu Dhabi Mobility, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority and Digital Government, the he Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, and Parkin.
The project’s objective is to facilitate access for individuals with determination to public facilities on a flexible and independent basis, thereby enhancing their quality of life and underscoring the UAE’s commitment to providing innovative and advanced services. Additionally, it will allow them to utilise designated car parks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai without the necessity of presenting paper permits.
The project is designed to benefit individuals who have been certified as having determination, as evidenced by the documentation they possess. This encompasses all individuals certified as having determination who possess either paper or electronic parking permits issued by the authorities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Additionally, individuals certified as having determination from any other emirate who possess valid permits issued by the relevant authorities in their respective emirates are also eligible to benefit from the parking spaces allocated to them in Abu Dhabi.
The digital linkage provides a unified database, which serves to enhance integration and cooperation between the relevant authorities and contributes to the provision of more effective and efficient services.
The project demonstrates the successful integration of government entities, with the objective of enhancing the user experience and providing advanced services that facilitate the integration of people with determination into society, while ensuring a seamless and effective application process.
