A 37-year-old woman passenger in a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus went into labour and was immediately taken to the hospital in the bus. The doctors and staff at Amala Hospital in Thrissur quickly rushed into the vehicle and assisted in the delivery.
Indian media reported that the woman gave birth to a baby girl. The mother and the baby are in good health.
A nail-biting video has surfaced, showing the bus arriving at the emergency unit of the hospital and a medical team rushing inside the bus to help the woman birth the baby.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
The video showed passengers rushing out of the vehicle for the medical team.
In a flash of a second, a line of hospital staff, nurses and doctors get inside the bus with medical equipment and tools for the delivery.
The mother and child were taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Social media users were quick in expressing their relief at the video.
One user wrote on X, “Kudos to the KSRTC staff & doctors and nurses.”
