Dubai Announces Jail for Individuals Involved in Begging
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

Dubai authorities are taking stricter action against begging, especially during Ramadan. Special police teams and more surveillance are being used to stop this practice.

Recently, police arrested nine people for begging in public places. Officials have warned that anyone caught begging could face up to three months in jail and a fine of 5,000 dirhams.

Residents are being asked to report beggars by using the “Police Eye” app or calling the 901 helpline. This will help authorities take quick action against those who break the law.

To ensure donations reach those who truly need help, Dubai has launched the “Donate Wisely” campaign. This campaign encourages people to donate only to recognized charities instead of giving money directly to beggars. Authorities say that many beggars use fake stories to gain sympathy and collect money unfairly.

Begging is illegal in Dubai, and authorities see it as a serious issue, especially during Ramadan when people are more generous. Some beggars work alone, while others are part of organized groups that take advantage of people’s kindness.

By reporting beggars and donating wisely, residents can help ensure that support goes to those who genuinely need it. Dubai’s government is committed to keeping the city safe and ensuring that charitable donations are used properly.

If you see anyone begging, report them immediately and choose trusted charities to help those in need.
