Electric Cars on Easy Installments for New E-Taxi Service
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

Punjab is ready to take a big step towards a greener future with its new plan to launch an electric taxi service for the first time in the province’s history. The government aims to make it easy for drivers to switch to electric cars by offering them on interest-free, easy monthly installments.

Under this plan, drivers who want to run an e-taxi will be able to get an electric vehicle without paying any interest, making it affordable for many who could not buy one otherwise. The goal is to reduce fuel costs, cut pollution, and provide better earning opportunities for taxi drivers.

In a recent meeting led by Punjab’s Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, the steering committee discussed all important details of the project.

Officials looked at different types of electric cars, their prices, and how they can be maintained properly. They also talked about setting up charging stations across cities so drivers can recharge their taxis easily.

To make this plan a success, different ideas were shared, and steps are being taken to remove any hurdles that drivers may face.

In the first phase, the government will offer 1,100 electric cars to drivers on simple and flexible payment plans. The scheme will be launched officially through advertisements in the coming weeks so that interested drivers can apply.

This project shows that Punjab is serious about using clean energy and helping its people. With this move, the province hopes to make its transport system modern, environment-friendly, and helpful for thousands of families who depend on taxis for their livelihood.
