Elon Musk’s Starlink Gets Registered in Pakistan

On Saturday, IT and Telecom Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced that Starlink, the satellite-based internet company, has officially been registered in Pakistan. The company is now in the process of obtaining a license to begin its operations in the country.

Elon Musk, the owner of Starlink, also confirmed the news on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Musk stated that Starlink is currently in discussions with the Pakistani government to finalize the details.

For many years, people in Pakistan, especially in rural and remote areas, have been urging Musk to introduce Starlink’s satellite internet services. These areas often struggle with limited or unreliable internet access, and Starlink’s technology could provide a much-needed solution.

To launch its services in Pakistan, Starlink must obtain a license from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Once approved, it is expected to significantly improve internet connectivity across the country, especially in regions where traditional infrastructure is challenging to establish.
