Emirates Airline Tickets will Soon be Payable with Crypto
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

Emirates has taken a big step toward the future by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore-based Cryptodotcom to start accepting cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings from 2026.

This agreement is expected to attract more young and tech-friendly travelers who are interested in using digital currencies. It also matches Dubai’s vision of becoming a global center for digital assets and crypto finance.

Through this partnership, Emirates and Cryptodotcom will work together to make sure the new payment system runs smoothly. They will focus on setting up the right technology, following rules for security and compliance, and making sure customers find it easy to pay with crypto. Both companies also plan to launch marketing campaigns to tell more people about this new option and encourage them to use it.

When customers pay for tickets in cryptocurrency, the payment will be instantly changed to United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED) using real-time exchange rates. This means customers won’t have to worry about currency changes or extra steps — the process will be simple and quick.

The signing event for this big deal was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, along with top managers from both Emirates and Cryptodotcom. This move follows a growing trend in the region. For example, Air Arabia already started accepting AE Coin as payment in May 2025.

By adding crypto payments, Emirates is showing that it wants to stay ahead in technology and make traveling easier and more flexible for modern customers.
