Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has become the second-richest person in the world, surpassing Jeff Bezos. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net worth is now $206.2 billion. In 2024 alone, his wealth increased by $78 billion. This was largely due to Meta’s stock going up by 68%, reaching a record high of $582.77.

The growth in Meta’s stock price came after the company reported strong earnings and successfully cut costs, which made investors more confident.

Meta has also made big investments in artificial intelligence, which has been paying off. Additionally, the company’s online advertising business has seen a strong recovery, further boosting its value.

All these factors have helped Zuckerberg move up in the rankings of the world’s richest people. He now only trails behind Tesla’s Elon Musk, who holds the top spot, by about $50 billion.

Musk remains the world’s wealthiest, but the gap between them has become smaller, showing how much Meta has grown and improved recently. Zuckerberg’s rise highlights Meta’s successful strategies in both cutting costs and investing in future technologies like AI.
