Gunmen wearing military uniforms stormed a house on Wednesday and killed all members of the family residing there, (a mother and five children) in Abbasiyah area of Samarra in Saladin Governorate, according to an Iraqi security source.
The security source said, “The incident resulted in the death of all family members, while the gunmen fled to an unknown destination. Security forces imposed a security cordon around the area and launched a search and inspection campaign to apprehend the perpetrators.”
The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al Shammari, ordered the formation of an investigative committee headed by the Undersecretary for Police Affairs to ascertain the circumstances of the incident.
