Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan made history at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup by becoming only the second Pakistani batter to score a century in the tournament. He joins Ahmed Shehzad, who scored a World Cup hundred in 2014.

Farhan played a match winning knock against Namibia in a must win group game. He remained unbeaten on 100 from 58 balls. His innings included 11 fours and four sixes.

He batted at a strike rate of more than 172, showing both control and power. His performance helped Pakistan post a strong total and dominate the match.

The 29 year old is now Pakistan’s top run scorer in the ongoing tournament. In four innings, he has scored 220 runs at an average of 73.33.

His steady form at the top of the order has given Pakistan strong starts, especially after a difficult outing against India earlier in the competition.

Farhan’s overall T20 International record is also solid. He has scored 1,142 runs in his T20I career so far, including one century and nine half centuries.

His ability to attack in the powerplay and rotate strike in the middle overs has made him a key part of Pakistan’s batting unit.

Cricket experts say his century came at the right time. Pakistan needed a big win to stay in the race, and Farhan delivered under pressure. His innings have boosted team confidence as they move forward in the tournament.
