Federal Gov Likely to Impose Governor’s Rule in KPK: Lawmaker
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsapp

The federal government is reportedly reviewing the option of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), as security and administrative concerns continue to grow across the province.

Law Minister Barrister Aqeel Malik shared that the increasing challenges along the borders and the overall law-and-order situation have pushed the government to consider stronger administrative measures.

According to sources, the main purpose of Governor’s Rule would be to bring stability, improve coordination, and ensure that security operations run smoothly. Officials believe that a stronger administrative setup could help the province handle ongoing threats more effectively.

Reports also suggest that the federal government is considering changes in the governor’s office. KPK Governor Faisal Karim Kundi may be replaced, and five names are currently under review.

These include three political figures and two retired military officers. Discussions are ongoing, and no final decision has been made yet.

The situation in KPK has been under close observation for several weeks, especially due to repeated security incidents in sensitive areas. Government authorities are evaluating all available options to protect citizens and maintain stability in the region.

While the idea of imposing Governor’s Rule is being discussed, officials have stated that any decision will be taken after a complete assessment of the situation.

For now, monitoring continues, and further steps will depend on how conditions develop in the coming days.
