Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the urgent need to close the education gap for girls in Pakistan, where the literacy rate for women is just 49%.

Speaking at the International Conference on Girls’ Education, he pointed out that despite the Islamic world’s rich history, countries like Pakistan are still struggling to offer proper educational opportunities for girls.

He stressed the importance of local and global organizations working together to develop practical and long-lasting solutions so every girl can go to school.

PM Sharif highlighted how education has the power to transform lives. By giving young girls access to education, entire families can be lifted out of poverty, the global economy can grow, and new ideas can emerge.

He also reminded everyone of the vision of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Jinnah believed in empowering women, knowing that their progress was essential for the country’s growth and success.

The Prime Minister echoed this belief, saying that educating girls is not just about improving individual lives but also about strengthening the nation as a whole.
