The first phase of Pakistan’s largest biomethane gas project has been launched in Gadap, Karachi. This project, called the Biogas Power Generator, was inaugurated on Monday and aims to produce clean energy from animal waste.

Developed by Bio Waste Energy Ventures Private Limited, the plant will convert cow and buffalo dung into biomethane gas. According to Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh, this initiative will help promote clean energy and protect the environment by reducing waste.

The plant is expected to produce 23,000 cubic meters of biomethane gas daily and generate 4-5 MW of electricity. This will not only provide an alternative energy source but also support industries and households in reducing reliance on traditional fuels.

Additionally, the project will utilize the heat and ash residues left after gas production to manufacture bricks. This innovative approach will help minimize waste and contribute to construction activities.

The Sindh government is actively supporting businesses and dairy farmers interested in investing in similar renewable energy projects. Authorities believe that such projects will play a key role in Pakistan’s shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly energy solutions.

This initiative marks an important step in reducing carbon emissions, improving waste management, and boosting renewable energy production in the country. As the project expands, it is expected to create new opportunities for businesses and contribute to a cleaner, greener Pakistan.

Translation: The Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has strongly condemned the suspension of advertisements for media TV and media Radio, following the earlier suspension for media Media Group’s newspapers. CPNE stated that media is among Pakistan’s most reputable media outlets, and imposing a ban on government advertisements is tantamount to economically weakening it.In this regard, the CPNE President and Secretary General said in a joint statement that media Media Group has provided impartial reporting in Pakistan since its inception. Initially, its newspapers were subjected to a ban on advertisements, and now the government has also deprived media Media Group’s electronic platforms of government advertisements. They demanded that the government immediately lift the ban on media Media Group’s advertisements.
