FPSC Announces Competitive Examination for Induction into Pakistan Administrative Service
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) will conduct an examination for the induction of Provincial Management Services (PMS) and Provincial Civil Services (PCS) into the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS). The examination is scheduled to take place from September 23 to September 24, 2024, in Islamabad.
Vacancies
There are a total of 26 vacancies available for this induction:
- Punjab: 18
- Sindh (Urban): 2
- Sindh (Rural): 5
- Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK): 1
Examination Structure
The competitive examination will consist of:
- Written Examination: 300 Marks
- Viva Voce: 100 Marks
Rules and Syllabus
The rules and syllabi for the examination, notified via SRO 274(I)/2021 dated February 23, 2021, can be accessed on the FPSC’s official website at www.fpsc.gov.pk.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Service Requirement:
- Candidates must be officers of provincial management services or provincial civil services, which include executive and secretariat services from the Provinces, AJK management group, and secretariat group, as well as district management service and office management service of Gilgit-Baltistan.
- They must have been directly recruited in BPS-17 through their respective public service commission and have a minimum of twelve years of service in BPS-17 and above.
- Candidates should have held a cadre post for at least five years and currently be holding a post in BPS-19 on a regular basis.
- Performance and Health Requirements:
- Candidates must have a minimum blood count of seventy-five percent.
- They should have at least three “very good” performance evaluation reports (PERs) with no “average” PER in the five years preceding their application.
- It is the responsibility of the Provincial and Regional Governments to provide accurate blood count data and a synopsis of PERs.
- Disciplinary Record:
- Candidates must not have had any penalties imposed on them in the last five years.
- No disciplinary proceedings under respective efficiency and discipline rules, accountability laws, or criminal proceedings should be pending against them.
- No Objection Certificate (NOC):
- Candidates must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Secretary (Services) and countersigned by the Chief Secretary of their respective Provincial and Regional Government. This NOC, as per the specimen available on the FPSC website, must be forwarded to the Secretary, FPSC within one month of the closing date.
Examination Center
The examination will be conducted exclusively in Islamabad.
Examination Fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable examination fee of Rs. 2200/-. The fee should be deposited in the National Bank of Pakistan under the Head of Account C-02101-Organs of State, FPSC Exam Fee. A blank Treasury Challan (T.R.6) is available on the FPSC website for download.
Application Submission Procedure
Aspiring candidates may apply online from July 7, 2024, to July 22, 2024. After submitting their applications online, candidates must send a signed Bio Data Form (as per Annex-B available on the FPSC website) along with all required documents to the FPSC Headquarters in Islamabad within 15 days of the closing date.
