Fuel-Saving Measures! Markets, Malls to Shut at 8 pm Across Pakistan Except Sindh

Pakistan has introduced new measures to conserve fuel, mandating that markets and shopping malls across the country close by 8:00 PM daily, effective from April 7. The province of Sindh is exempt from this specific timing. Additionally, bakeries, restaurants, and marriage halls are required to shut their operations by 10:00 PM. Wedding celebrations held at private residences will also need to conclude by this time.

These measures have been implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and are part of a broader effort to curb energy consumption in response to rising global oil prices, which have been affected by ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Officials have emphasized that these steps are necessary to manage domestic fuel demand, control costs, and maintain economic stability during a challenging global energy climate.

Certain essential services, including medical stores, are exempt from these restrictions, and authorities have indicated that some flexibility may be allowed depending on local conditions and specific areas.
