Full Pink Moon to Light Up Karachi’s Sky This Sunday

The first full moon of the spring season, known as the Pink Moon, will shine brightly in the sky this weekend and can be seen in many parts of the world. Even though it’s called the Pink Moon, the moon itself will not actually look pink. The name comes from pink wildflowers, known as phlox, which usually bloom in early spring in some regions. These flowers are one of the first signs that spring has arrived, which is why the full moon at this time of year was given this name.

This year, the Pink Moon will reach its peak brightness on the night of Saturday, April 12. In Pakistan, especially in cities like Karachi, people will be able to see the Pink Moon clearly in the night sky on Sunday, April 13. The moon is expected to rise at around 9:08 p.m. in Karachi and will stay visible throughout the night. It will be a great opportunity for sky watchers, families, and anyone who enjoys looking at the night sky to witness a beautiful full moon.

This particular full moon is also known as the Paschal Moon. It is an important moon in the Christian calendar because it helps determine the date of Easter. Easter is celebrated on the first Sunday after the Paschal Moon, which makes this full moon especially significant for many people around the world.

After the Pink Moon, the next full moon will be called the Flower Moon. It is expected to appear on May 12, 2025, and is named after the many flowers that bloom in late spring. Until then, people can enjoy the peaceful and glowing beauty of the Pink Moon as it lights up the sky this weekend.
