Major General (Retired) Dr. Ghulam Qamar has been appointed as the Director General of Religious Education (DGRE) for a three-year term starting November 18, 2024. The appointment was approved by the Prime Minister and is seen as an important step in improving and modernizing religious education in Pakistan.
Dr. Qamar has extensive experience in this field, having previously served as the Project Director for DGRE. In that role, he played a significant part in bringing reforms to religious education across the country.
