A German tourist who lost her way while hiking in the scenic Naran mountains was safely rescued by Mansehra police after a long night in the cold. A video of her thanking the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has gone viral, where she praised their swift and professional response.

Reports say that she started her hike around 5 PM, aiming to explore a nearby hilltop before sunset. While she managed to reach the peak, darkness fell before she could trace her way back, leaving her stranded in steep and unfamiliar terrain.

She found shelter in a shepherd’s cabin when the temperature dropped in order to protect herself from the chilly night. Since there was no safe route, she waited for assistance while locals alerted the police to her situation.

Police teams quickly launched a search operation, joined by local volunteers. Using torchlights, the rescuers trekked through difficult mountain paths until they finally reached her location. She was then carefully guided to safety.

Authorities praised the local community and police for working together to ensure her rescue. They also emphasized that such cooperation is crucial in tourist regions like Naran, where hikers often neglect the risks associated with late treks in the mountains.

The tourist expressed her gratitude to the rescue team, saying their timely response made her feel safe far away from home. Officials added that the incident serves as a reminder for visitors to follow safety guidelines and avoid starting hikes late in the day.
