The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has announced that no new affidavit or additional conditions have been introduced for Pakistanis traveling abroad on work visas, bringing relief to overseas job seekers.

The clarification came during a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain. The FIA confirmed that recent reports claiming the introduction of an affidavit requirement—allegedly signed by a Grade 18 or 19 officer—were false and had no official basis.

FIA Director General Riffat Mukhtar acknowledged that some overseas workers had been offloaded at Lahore and Karachi airports. He stated that an inquiry has already been launched into these incidents, and strict action will be taken against any officials found responsible for wrongful offloading.

Minister Hussain emphasized that overseas Pakistanis play a vital role in the country’s economy through their remittances and deserve to be treated with dignity and fairness. He directed the FIA to ensure that no traveler with a valid work visa or protector certificate is stopped unnecessarily at any airport in Pakistan.

This announcement has been welcomed by workers and travel agents alike, easing concerns among those preparing to travel abroad for employment. The FIA reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and fairness, assuring the public that genuine travelers will continue to receive full facilitation at all airports.
